One Business. Multiple Seat. Better Decisions.
The Problem with Running Your Business Only from the CEO Seat
Discover how CEO, CFO, and COO perspectives shape smarter business decisions—and how Your C-Suite brings executive thinking without executive salaries.
About This Episode
As founders, we build our businesses from the CEO seat, focused on growth, sales, and vision. But as a business grows, a decision that looks smart from the CEO seat can be a costly mistake from the CFO or COO seat.
In this episode, I share the story of a client doing $4–5 million in revenue who was buried in debt and drowning in inventory, because every decision ran through one question: will this help us sell more? I break down what each C-suite role does, how each one sees the same problem differently, and why I built Your C-Suite to give growing businesses access to that executive thinking without executive salaries.
In This Episode
- A decision can be good for growth and bad for the business at the same time. Buying more inventory to support projected sales can make sense from the CEO seat and still strain your cash.
- Each seat asks a different question. The CEO asks, “Is this the right growth opportunity?” The CFO asks, “Will it generate enough profit and cash?” The COO asks, “Can we execute it efficiently?”
- The real problem isn’t always the one you see. My client thought her buying was the issue. The CFO lens exposed vendor terms that had her effectively financing her suppliers, and the COO lens uncovered costly inefficiencies in receiving and restocking.
- Past about $1 million in revenue, one perspective usually isn’t enough. More employees, vendors, and processes mean decisions in one area create consequences in another.
- You don’t need full-time executives; you need access to how they think. A full-time C-suite hire typically starts around $250,000 a year. Fractional support brings that expertise to your table for a fraction of the cost.
